  2. "Obligations" are an unknown quantity to me. Poverty prevents taking on any. For example, I cannot even contemplate getting a cat. What if they get sick???

  3. IIRC, a Khanna-supporting PAC smeared Honda hard. Ro's line now, paraphrased: "Well, I can't stop people who love me from creating a PAC to advertise for me!"

  4. My brother, who has a decent union job, got a cat and dog after years of petlessness. Cat needed some weird stomach surgery ($1000); dog had a fever as a puppy, which apparently caused him to have fucked-up teeth that needed repair ($2400 so far...they need recapping every year or two).

  5. Realistically, even faced with one of those outcomes, I'd have to put the animal down...which would be a really shitty thing to do over relatively minor health issues. I've been suicidal since 1994, so I'm trying to avoid extreme sadness. Of course, I lose some happiness too.
