Exactly. As Parenti said, they're not underdeveloped, but overexploited!

And that's just bases. You know damn well they have agents in every country on earth, including China.

@death2colonialism OK, but the reason there's a reason they're underdeveloped: Because they're neo-colonies with no economic (or other) sovereignty, and the imperial capitalists who control the purse strings see no incentive to spend on greater development; in fact, lower development means workers have less opportunity to demand more. It's not just a case of "poor country sells lithium to rich country because the former doesn't have factories or Ph.Ds to run them". Additionally, not every country needs to buy finished goods made from the raw materials exported stolen from their countries. Cocoa and sugar are excellent examples of this.

"Canada's CIFA, for example, invests in infrastructure & training in W. Africa to primarily benefit Canadian mining companies there." Yeah...because Canada and the United States totally aren't allies. Jesus Christ.

@rcmrcm3370 I said a lot of things. What do you want "data" on?

@baonemogomotsi7138 Frankly, after perusing the rest of your comments, I suspect you're just another bad faith troll pushing the US line. In fact, I agree that China is engaging in economic imperialism, but that doesn't mean they're materially or morally the same as Uncle Sam, so please save your false equivalence for another day.

@baonemogomotsi7138 You don't need to be American to spew American agitprop any more than you need to be white to regurgitate white supremacist tropes. As for not critiquing properly, that's you right now! Why not make a specific criticism? Probably because you can't.
2
@nickxenix You know what's underdeveloped? An analysis of what development means by the people themselves. Most claims of "underdevelopment" come from Western shitbags who believe that the optimum level of development in all spheres is the one they currently have, no more and no less. Like, maybe some countries don't want nuclear power plants or 8-lane highways. Ya dig?

PRC supports apartheid in Canada.

@questworldmatrix No. It's like the "Indian Act", "Chinese Exclusion Act", violence and discrimination against Black people in Dresden, Ontario and Africville, Nova Scotia (the latter bulldozed in the 1960s), etc. I'm talking mainly about the first one here tho, namely the PetroChina co-ownership of the "Coastal Gas Link" pipeline being constructed on Wet'suwet'en land, land for which Canada has never had a treaty with the Wet'suwet'en (unceded land). In fact, Chinese companies have been instrumental in oil and gas "extraction" here for over a decade, with zero regard for Indigenous peoples from whose land these resources are drawn stolen.
2
There's something to your analysis, but then you taint it with the same white supremacist nonsense you're accusing him of. Weird.

If he knows nothing, he should say nothing. Like you.

@inkbold8511 I don't think your grasp of English is sufficient to opine on my comment, considering how wrong you got it.
1
@nickxenix Your comments are a joke, but I'm not laughing.
1
@death2colonialism I can't speak about your time, but I've yet to read anything you've written which I felt was a waste of my time! Despite my usual tone, I know one thing for sure: That I don't know everything. I always appreciate good faith counterarguments, comrade. Thesis, antithesis, synthesis. ✊

@baonemogomotsi7138 Those economic sectors needed for exploitation are as fully developed as they need to be for the capitalists doing the exploiting. The lack of development of the rest is purposeful, not a mere accident of history. I hope that makes sense.

It was cancer, and shortly after his cook mysteriously died. You know that people can be killed with radioactive substances, right?
1
You're really asserting that Soviet imperialism was the same as American imperialism? Trollol.
1
Because it's less obvious than a literal cape.

LOL. Why would the CIA have to extort him? Does it sound like he's saying something out of the ordinary? Or that it's coerced?
