Comments by "Two-Row Euro" (@fun_ghoul) on "The CED: No really, it coulda made sense! (Part 2)" video.
@brettknoss486 Nobody gave a shit about recording TV for half the year while repeats played, and it would be a decade before video cameras were anything but a rich man's bauble.

@lightdark00 Sure you don't, troll.

@CuriouserArchive Aww, isn't that cute! You're assuming everyone knew how to actually operate the VCR! So naive...

"Congress" has another meaning, which is also more apropos IMO.

Nice.

My nonno bought a VCR in 1985 or 1986. It was a GE, with a corded remote. 6 year old me figured out and showed him how to program it to record. It really wasn't that hard, I just had better eyesight than he.

@BeAGoodDoga I'm plenty chill, kid. I live in Ottawa. Run along now.

@BeAGoodDoga Nahzee.

@bloodyhell8201 Idiot replies to 3+ year old comment; posits commenter as old, while also making reference to the old-school teevee evening news. 🤓

@danieldaniels7571 Who said "input", tho? Sorry. I didn't skim enough words there! lol

@TheMediaHoarder First, the OP wasn't being sarcastic. Second, the censored-audio-but-not-text thing is about American law, not some weird mistake.
1
@doubtful_seer I can tell you didn't read the OP or my comments, or you'd perhaps have gleaned that I was programming my grampa's VCR in 1986. It was a Sanyo, with the corded remote.

@jhoughjr1 "The whole part of being able to watch one thing and record another to resolve familial conflicts you seem to be forgetting." You seem to be "forgetting" that you couldn't do this unless your VCR had two tuners, fuckstick.

@teamcybr8375 "Incompetent at arguing" is not a moral failing, jagoff. In fact, if someone is so competent at arguing as to convince others of LIES, perhaps they are my moral inferiors. Nevertheless, you know FUCK ALL, like the other children who've literally never used a vee cee are. Hush. I tire of your nonsense.
1
@CuriouserArchive Oh, and you're also assuming everyone had cable. Do you even know, child, how a vee cee are was hooked up to a TV with rabbit ears and no coax cable? Ouf...
1
@CuriouserArchive So...you had rabbit ears on your TV, fed to your VCR, which then sent a signal to your TV? Please, O Great Sage, tell me more... 🤣🤣🤣
1
@CuriouserArchive So you're saying it worked the opposite way for rabbit ears than it would for cable. As Chief Wiggum would say: "Dig up, stupid!"

@D-Vinko Nobody replied to me in the past six months, brainlet. You should stop drunk commenting.
1
@IanForsythWestCoast Lemme know when you find a TV antenna terminated with a threaded 75 ohm end, galaxy brain. 😗

@jonathanpusar5931 Re-read my comment. Ouf.

I'll be 41 this month, and I don't have a single recollection of even hearing of a CED, ever. The only choices at Montreal Stereo Video were Beta and VHS, lol.

@ianmansfieldalbert The company has only been renamed officially since 2008. Prior to that, "Panasonic" was just a Matsu brand name.
