Ok, I agree that there are no significant rebel groups who are secular rebels, and I also think that Obama is extremely naïve for believing this. Yet despite all this, we all have to recognize that there really are secular rebels in Syria, both Muslims and Christians. It would be a mistake for us to ignore them. Even if Bashar was more progressive than most Islamic dominated countries, the people of Syria should have the right to depose him in favor of democracy as we have seen in Egypt and.other countries. After all Bashar is not a good guy, both before and after the war.
