  1. ​ @Rai2M he's completely correct, OpenAI took everyone's copyrighted material without any consent breaking tons of licenses and TOSs and then selling it for a price without letting anyone run the models without intervention of OpenAI so that they can track and collect data of its users, Meanwhile Deepseek R1 which if they distilled OpenAI models would be equivalent to taking that copyrighted material and then providing it back on the public domain as an open source model along with the research papers.
