He was pulling a float so it might have been a matter of the float continuing to push the truck forward while the driver was trying to stop. I haven't seen the full circumstances in this case but long ago while marching in a parade with my HS marching band, I saw a few instances where floats briefly overpowered the vehicle hauling them at low speeds when the driver attempted to slow down/stop (usually on a slight to moderate incline.) Luckily the floats used up their inertia fairly quickly and the drivers warned those in front of them by using their horns so no one was hurt.

This is boiling down to those with internet literacy who have read the CNN article and those without who refuse to even look at the evidence...

@tonybridges376 The truck was pulling a float. As such, this might be a case of the float pushing the truck rather than the truck pulling the float. If so, he could have done everything possible to stop and still be overpowered by the float. I saw a couple of such instances when in parades with my high school marching band long ago. Luckily the direction they were being pushed in kept them out of the crowd and those parading ahead quickly realized what was happening and easily got out of the way.

He committed no crime...but he did make those posts.
4
He gave a lot of personal info in the profilea and they cross referenced language he used with other social media post he made etc. It's called internet illiteracy on his part. Not uncommon for the time when he created the account. It doesn't help that a lot of it ended up on a web archive.
4
@anthonyasmussen8732 It already has. Computer crimes cases have been won on weaker evidence than what CNN provided in their article.
2
Bored factory worker in 2008 with no internet litteracy or forethought that might come back to haunt him later.
2
Begone paid poster.
2
His lying about it does.
2
Read the original CNN article. It's far far more than just screenshots. A lot of it's also web archived from the time period.
2
Simply look at the evidence laid out in the CNN article...If you have any imternet literacy you'll know it's not really fakable.
1
Computer crimes cases have been won on weaker evidence than CNN provided. As no actual crime has been committed, it's not a matter of guilt or innocence being proven.
1
That'e why most places require you to face oncoming traffic when walking.
1
@slapshotjack9806 In what state? My state requires facing on coming traffic when walking if no sidewalk is available. Doing a little research, I can't find a state where the opposite is true.
1
He has refused offers by tech specialists who volunteered to help disprove CNN's evidence and still won't file an actual libel suit. If he knows it's false, then his actions make no sense.
1
Read the original CNN article...
1
Get out of here paid poster.
1
Tell him much of the evidence came from a web archive from before the man ever ran for office. Those are darn near impossible to "hack" and changes would be easily noticed if they were.
1
There's no crime involved...though cases have been won on weaker evidence than CNN provided concerning his link to the account and the posts themselves have been archived and uneditable since before he had any fame.
1
Because no one cares about Lt Governor races. Most people can't even name theirs. People don't bother really looking into backgrounds until you run for significant public office.
1
@donnabreda5393 The tech specialists who volunteered their time to help him but were refused could have determined if it was fake by now had he let them. On top of that, Politico traced the IP addresses associated with the account to his area at the time the account was active, the account profile had his First and last name, a photo, his age, an email address connected to other social media accounts of his, the same screen name, etc. What more do you need? If his legal team hasn't released a counter to it within another week, then it must be assumed to be true. It doesn't take long to determine something like this one way or the other.
1
If he was a Democrat, what he said would be an equal political "death sentence".
1
They don't vet anyone they endorse. Look at the quality of some of the Congress Members they've gone with.
1
Yes, there was. The Columbian President (and country) took offense at the manner of return and demanded that any returned be done so with dignity. They have made it clear that future attempts to return them in the same manner will also be rejected.
1
@Joshua-pr9vg If they were being sent back in handcuffs and shackles as an intentional insult, I would refuse the flight and arrange for proper return just like Columbia did.
1
@B1ackWo1f13 There's photo's of them shackled and handcuffed... Besides. When all is said and done, it's cheaper to fly them back comercial. Trump just wants to use military discretionary funding to help hide the eventual real cost of his mass deportations... much, much greater than his claimed $300B.
1
Then why did you click on the video doofus?
1
It's 🐂💩. Trump complied with the Columbian President's original conditions that the people be allowed to return with dignity. That's not a victory. Also, Mexico denied a flight for the same reason Columbia did and we conceded.
1
Never underestimate the internet illiteracy of the common man in the late 2000's. Plus, using his real name was only one of many mistakes he made that allowed the trace. Also, up until this race, he was unimportant and judging from the amount of work that went into the CNN investigation, likely didn't warrant such a deep dive. Tech advancement in search engines etc. may also have played a role in the timing.
1
@leahwilson1674 No he left a ton of personal info available.
1
So Trump complies with the Columbian President's conditions that the people be returned with dignity and claims victory... hmm
1
Take your paid posting elsewhere.
1
In this case many are deceiving themselves by not bothering to even look at the evidence in the CNN article and brush up on their internet literacy
1
And refused to accept volunteered help from tech specialists to refute CNN's evidence or to file an actual libel suit...
1
He refused offers from tech specialists who volunteered to help disprove CNN's evidence and still won't file an actual libel suit. Not the actions of an innocent man and the reason why his campaign and Lt Gov. office staff quit.
1
He's not fighting...that's the problem and why his staff quit.
1
Computer crimes cases have been won on weaker evidence than what was provided in the CNN article. To individually verify it for each station will take time as a good deal of work went into doing it the first time.
1
@Tolbat There's still the web archive CNN got a lot of the evidence from. That ain't going anywhere.
1
His career is over.
1
They have web archives of a lot of the evidence from before he ever ran for office. Not the same at all as what happened to your mom. You can't really "hack" that.
1
Gotta love sleazy politicians hiding an obvious power grab behind a natural disaster. The victims of Helene will never see that money.
1
Creeping to watch girls in the showers is a bit much...especially bragging about it as an adult.

Once Trump loses again the Republican party will implode and things will start to settle down once they reform with the MAGA contingent no longer in control.
