The prosecution has no choice but to continue leaking information. If they don't poison the potential jury pool, a good defense team with competent experts to counter those of the prosecution stands a decent chance of creating enough reasonable doubt for an acquittal. When you dig into the specifics of the evidence (for example, the accuracy with which they can pinpoint his position via cell phone pings while he was "in the area"... ~1 mile at best given the low cell tower density in the area) their case becomes increasingly sus. One glaring issue is that the FBI expert at determining make and model of vehicles originally could only narrow it down to a 2011 to 2013 elantra. Which is odd considering there are shade tree mechanics out there who could look at a vehicle filmed with a potato and tell you the precise year. Even more odd when that expert later extended the range to 2011 - 2016 around the time investigators decided Kohberger was the killer... a killer who happened to drive a 2015 elantra...

@tonamiller6850 Assuming he's guilty. When you dig a little deeper into the specifics of the evidence rather than just the vague generalities being reported , things start to get increasingly sus in regards to the investigation.

Possibly because some people are smart enough to stay as far away from the press as possible in situations like this. The press is out for a story, not necessarily to solve a disappearance/crime.

The anti-Disney folk really should research the original agreement (as DeSantis should have done before pitching his little hissy fit.) Were they to do so, they'd find that the deal was equally beneficial to the state (if not more so) as it was to Disney. For example, many would be surprised to know that Disney has always paid state and local taxes. The agreement essentially allowed them to rely on themselves to get many things done that would otherwise have been a responsibility of the state or local governments. Things that Disney paid for instead of the people of Florida who would have done so otherwise. Heck, the two counties which Disney World is situated in were against DeSantis's poorly thought out retalliation as they are in no condition to take on what were Disney's responsibilities under the agreement and can't afford to if they do.

The agreement was just as beneficial to the state as it was to Disney (possibly more beneficial.) Disney provides tens of thousands of jobs, tourism money to nearby areas and pays state and local taxes while the two counties Disney World is situated in and the state barely had to lift a finger or spend a dime in return. In fact, the two counties mentioned were not exactly fans of DeSantis's little hissy fit retalliation as neither are even remotely prepared to take on the responsibilities that would be shifted from Disney to them and definitely can't afford it. Also, Disney is being nice about it. They aren't seeking to enforce a provision in the original agreement that requires the state to pay off the bond debt should it wish to cancel the deal. That debt is just shy of $1B currently. Edit: What Disney got out of the deal was not having to rely on the local governments to provide certain services in a timely fashion with the desired quality and not having to grease the palms of corrupt local politicians to get building permits and the like.

It could be a case of dissociative fugue. There hasn't been a well publicized case of such in awhile. It doesn't look good though.

Gotta love it when the prosecution resorts to leaking info about a case in hopes of poisoning the potential jury pool. Can't really blame them here though. A good defense team with well qualified expert witnesses to counter those of the state's could potentially create enough reasonable doubt in an unbiased jury to get an acquittal.

I take it you (like DeSantis) haven't actually researched the agreement... Disney has always paid state and local taxes (~$750M to the state in 2019 alone and estimated to be over $1B/year now that covid lockdowns are over.) Just because it's called a special tax district doesn't mean they're not paying taxes. There are many types of such agreements (over 1,800 of them in Florida alone) and all are unique. All the agreement in questiom really did was allow Disney to rely on itself to handle many things that would otherwise be handled by local government. They didn't have to wait for years for the local governments to get around to fixing a pothole for example. The big bonus though was not having to grease the palms of corrupt local politicians (and wait years) to get building permits etc. They could simply approve their own construction/repair projects (still subject to state safety codes.) Essentially, Disney took on many responsibilities and costs that would otherwise have gone to state and local governments while still paying state and local taxes. In return, they could fast track projects and generally get things done in a timely fashion and at a higher quality of work. Ask yourself this, if revoking the agreement is such a good thing, why are both counties Disney World is situated in not fans of the idea? The answer is that neither is in any condition to take on those responsibilities and definitely can't afford to do so if they did.
