  2. Actually no. Only Congress can declare war. The President can initiate military actions on their own. However, if it goes beyond tit for tat and becomes a permanent operation, Congress must approve it after (iirc) 60 days.

  3. I think a lot of their calling it lies/hoax was because they didn't actually keep the records like they were supposed to and only had the first article to go off of. After the second article, they had to resort to attacks because they were cooked. It will be interesting to see if they are able to come up with their own official records for the lawsuit in progress. I'm also curious as to how Mr. Goldberg feels about Marco Rubio, who was involved with the chat, which was set to auto delete, also being the acting National Archivist (and thus should have been aware of the rules.)

  4. @Comraid_Doge  The National Archivist can't bypass the Federal Records Act. There's already a lawsuit filed over their use of auto delete. We'll see what kind of magic loophole defense argument they try to make. Considering the President went ballistic and immediately called for the impeachment of the judge who got the case, my guess is no real defense.
