@dstolf An inconvenient thought for them. Just like the fact that technically there were IDF soldiers attending the music festival on Oct 7 making it fair game by Israel's own apparent rules of engagement.

He was underage and never should have legally been allowed to act as an armed guard to begin with. His and especially multiple adults, stupidity set up the situation ro begin with. Had it not been for that he would not have needed to defend himself.

When the SWAT team shoots first and doesn't attempt to negotiate...pretty much any moral universe.

A book responsible for more atrocities over time than any other.

And a fairy tale is worth all the slaughter that book has caused? Grow up and live in reality.

It's how and why you do it. Israel takes things way too far. Especially their total lack of concern for civilians. Their way of "defending" themselves only guarantees a new generation of enemies who grew up seeing the gore of what was once their friends and family members in the rubble and will not forget or forgive. They will be even more motivated than their predecessors. You can't kill an idea entirely and that's exactly what Israel is trying to do. At some point you have to admit enough blood has been spilled and come to the negotiating table.

While the claims about Colombus are dubious, he would have known that spreading such blankets could lead to the spread of the disease. Medieval medicine (~1,100 ad to ~1,500 ad), developed on the foundations of surviving greek and roman writings and taught at early universities, held that god was responsible for the existence of disease in general (one of the consequences of man being exiled from the garden of eden) but that specific diseases were spread by natural causes. Though the precise mechanism responsible wasn't known (germs), they had deduced that diseases could spread from person to person as well as through items contaminated by an infected person centuries before Colombus came along.
