Nothing in the 14th amendment says anything about being on the ballot. One can't hold office or be declared the elector to office (the winner of the election.) Also, it's a federal matter not a state matter since it's based on a federal amendment. Whatever the decision it should apply to all states not just on an individual basis. Hopefully the method to the Colorado Supreme Courts madness is to fast track the issue to SCOTUS and they are fully aware that their ruling is garbage. Otherwise, as much as I can't stand Trump, this ruling is just shameful.

Town hall meetings are mostly nutters, curmudgeons, and business affairs. Most only go to one if they have a grievance, real or imagined. The vast majority of the population there say it's bull💩and there is no movement by them for deportations. Trump is forcing his narrative onto them for his own political advancement, and it's sick.

@MIKE2HANDS The "evidence" floating around social media is a clip that actually pertains to an incident where a mentally ill American lady killed and ate someone's cat, and a story of missing ducks from a pond...something that has gone on everywhere in America for pretty much ever as the homeless take ducks and geese from ponds to eat. People just turn a blind eye to it and it never makes the news unless perhaps they get caught doing it. No one saw who took the ducks so there's no reason to assume it was immigrants...unless one has a political motive.

There are many factors beyond which countries have reached the goal of spending at least 2% of their GDP on defense to consider when it comes to who's pulling their weight. Trump is just looking for disingenuous excuses to continue sabotaging NATO to the benefit of his old buddy Putin like he did while he was President if elected again. If other countries wanted to, they could point out that while the US accounts for ~34% of the total population of all NATO countries, we only pay ~26% of the general operations funding and use that to claim that we're the deadbeats. With all of the economic issues that have occurred over the 10 years that the GDP agreement has been in place, 2% simply wasn't realistic for many of the countries. They have however in good faith consistently increased their defense spending over that time. Those who didn't reach the goal still offer other indirect benefits and/or strategic advantages that can be argued to be acceptable alternatives to make up the difference (at least for the time being.) To make the kind of statements that Trump has about long term allies we are definitely going to need moving forward, is simply idiotic, bordering on treasonous, and definitely not in the country's best interests at all.

@rlwetz4317 The US accounts for ~34% of the total population of NATO countries but only pays for ~26% of the general operations funding... There are many metrics beyond the GDP defense spending goal to consider when it comes to who's pulling their weight. Trump did all he could to sabotage NATO when he was in office (the compomised rapid response capability that came from the chaos he caused being one of the primary reasons Putin found it feasible to invade Ukraine) this nonsense is just a disingenuous continuance of that.

@rlwetz4317 Why should NATO be expected to assist with our border issues? It's not military related and is extremely overblown anyway due to this being an election year (and Abbott wanting to get an early start on a Presidential bid in 2028.)

We like money and to be able to eat. Trump's policies will destroy our economy and take those things away more than Covid did. In the end, his fascist party will fail for that reason. Just give us four years and we'll be done with that nonsense.

Correction, Trump empty promise. He can't run for another term, so there's no accountability when he fails to produce on his promises this time. Also, by refusing any more debates, he'll not have to explain how he'll replace the revenue, etc. He's free and clear to buy as many gullible votes as he wants with all sorts of promises from now until election day.

And a loss for the rule of law...

There are few, if any real Republicans left in DC or running for Congress. The Trumpublicans have done a thorough job of getting rid of them.
