He's probably got financial ties to companies that produce/supply both Christian and homeschooling materials.

Yep, but which God? Many of the founding fathers were spiritual but not religious.
2
No, just childish. He lost the game and is now pitching a tantrum.

I take it you've never actually read the bible... there's a lot of wrongdoing that gets glorified in it. Some really sick stuff.

The teachers will ignore it.
1
How about they follow the Constitution instead?
1
The keyword being "partially." We were not founded on any particular religion and the ten commandments are fully Christian/Jewish. Now, if they want to portray the small handful of them that aren't religious and already have actual criminal law prohibiting them as suggestions, that might be acceptable.

I'd just give the kids nightmares by focusing on Joshua and Revelations.

Nope. State employees/contractors must respect constitutional rights. Unless the student's parents can opt their children out, ignore him and continue to do your jobs properly. Edit: Also, check and see if he has any ties to companies that produce/supply Christian or homeschooling materials. The former speaks for itself, and the latter could be profitable since shenanigans like this tend to push parents toward removing their kids from public school...

@wendykarle3114 Religion should remain the domain of religious institutions and the home. Anything other than comparative religious classes have no business in public education.

It's not even very good fiction really. The Silmarillion is a more entertaining read.

@GloriaMarquez-cv1by This superintendent could probably benefit from a little use of the rod... or at least the removal of the one he clearly has up his..

He's a manchild pitching a hissy fit.

It didn't fully get settled until the early 1960's in some areas of the country.
1
Nah, just growing pains. We're quite young in the grand scheme of politics.
1
Noem probably put him up to this due to the bad blood between her and tribes in her state.
1
We're going through a phase. We'll grow out of it. We haven't actually been around that long compared to many other countries.

The pages make good rolling papers.
1
Only for a couple of demographics... guess you belonged to one of those... 60+ years ago. Now go get someone to change your adult diaper, you're stinking up the place.

@janetsoulsby527 ended in the early 1960's

But not under a religion...
1
@theresabrents6402 They're currently ranked 49th.

I guess they could squeeze in the loaves and fishes bit somehow...
1
@ambientdolphin They'll most likely just use the pages for rolling paper...

A Republican led House passed some nonsense like that as a "resolution." Such legislature is merely a form of meaningless, non legally binding virtue signaling for use during campaigns. They failed to pass a nearly identical one in 2009-2010. Edit: Legalwise, the Supreme Court does not consider such legislation at all when interpreting the Constitution.
1
This isn't about a "god." This is about a religion. We are not and were never intended to be, under a religion.
1
We need education back in our schools...
1
Jefferson also rewrote the Bible for himself removing the miracles, and pretty much anything remotely religious... He was also a politician and not above promoting unconstitutional policies if he thought it would get him votes. The latter applies to the rest as well.
