  2. That would be the smart thing to do. Mr. Putin and his top henchman could be handed over to the Hague gift parceled by the new democratic government of free Russia. Lesser war criminals could be tried back in Russia. All these trials will generate entire mountains of paperwork.

  3. The usual way how this works is that peace treaties are in place until a new war breaks out. Technically then, if either one would start a war, the borders could be redrawn as the result of that war. I've never heard of peace treaties lapsing on their own without hostilities breaking out. When a countries borders are defined by a treaty, they do not suddenly change no matter how many historical maps somebody rolls out.
