I don't believe we do. Gold was used for bonding wires in the past, but today we mostly use aluminum. Gold has terrible diffusion properties. It tends to move to places where you don't want it, which in semiconductors is not a good thing.

@leopoldmolitch4040 A sane person is not required to stay nice at the sight of endless insanity. Where did you get that "rule" from? Did you make it up yourself? And what are you gaining by discounting sanity because of the tone in which it is being expressed? Is that helping YOUR case? Hardly. At most you are beginning to sound like a troll yourself.
