  1. The critical point temperature of CO2 is 31 degrees Celsius. So while you are technically correct that the atmosphere is above the critical temperature and pressure, it doesn't do any interesting "physical" tricks in that state. It would be great to cool down Venus to roughly room temperature and to observe the extreme "weather" that would happen during the phase transition, but that's not going to happen for a while. We don't quite have the technology to do that.

  2. So what you are saying is that you and Sabine are getting worked up over a poorly written science paper. Sounds like a waste of emotional energy to me. But then, maybe you like raising your blood pressure that way. It's certainly safer than free-climbing a rock face. ;-)
