  1. Dark matter and dark energy are observations. They exist without math. Whether dark energy is a statistically relevant observation or an artifact of the way the measurements were made is not completely clear at the moment, but we will get more data and then it will either become statistically relevant or it will go away. Dark matter, on the other hand, has been statistically relevant for many decades. One can't discuss it away.
