  8. It is partly that we don't know and partly that the measurement system modifies the result. The two effects are indistinguishable in general. We can make special preparations where one is stronger than the other and that's how we can learn that both effects exist.

  9. Wave functions are descriptions of unmeasured ensembles. This has nothing to do with epistemology. We know with equal certainty that the outcome of a single dice roll is a number between and one six and that, on average, all numbers come out equally often when we roll fair dice. Both are knowledge, they are just no the same knowledge. The quantum mechanical wave function is simply the knowledge we have about expectation values.

  10.  @davidrobinson7684  Schroedinger's cat was simply an expression of Schroedinger's personal confusion about quantum mechanics. He can't teach you anything about the subject because he didn't understand it himself. That was almost 90 years ago, by the way. It's about as relevant as geology without plate tectonics would be today. If you want to understand quantum mechanics, then you have to read Heisenberg (matrix mechanics), Mott (Mott problem), Dirac and Feynman (relativistic theory) and work your way towards a modern understanding of relativistic field theory.
