Quantum mechanics follows the same mathematical rules as coin flips (Kolmogorov's axioms), but they are being applied to energy rather than material objects.

Orthogonal polarizations don't show interference stripes to begin with. You are still left with the problem that detecting light means absorbing it.

We can and we gave you the correct language in high school. Sabine is just messing with you. ;-)

We gave you the correct language. All it takes is a total of 21 words to make sense of this: "Energy is the ability of a system to perform work on another system". 13 words. "A quantum is a small amount of energy.". 8 words. That's the correct language right there. 13 + 8 = 21. :-)

You didn't have to "suspect" anything, philosopher. You could have simply paid attention in high school when we taught you that photons are quanta of energy. There are no particles. That's why it's called "quantum mechanics" and not "particle mechanics". Somehow philosophers don't seem to catch on to that dead giveaway easily. ;-)

@johanaberg173 The problem is that there is endless bs on the internet about something that is so trivial that we are teaching it to high school students. I have yet to meet a single person with a high school diploma who has not become a physicist or a physics teacher who can repeat the definition of energy to me. We are literally spending thousands of tax payer dollars on every child to teach them the very basics of science and they are coming out of high school without as much as a tiny remnant of a memory for phrases like "Energy is the ability of a system to perform work on another system." and "Quanta are small amounts of energy.". Is it really that hard to remember a total of 21 words? Seriously? Is it???

Have you ever seen anything in two places at once? Without being drunk, that is.
1
Yes, you simply don't understand physics. Neither does Sabine, by the way. ;-)

@writerightmathnation9481 We are teaching in high school (and have for over 40 years) that quanta are small amounts of energy. They are NOT objects and QM is NOT about spacetime. It is a theory of ensembles of independent systems.
1
@writerightmathnation9481 There is nothing more to elaborate. You were simply not paying any attention in school and now you are a troll. ;-)

No. ;-)

You are correct. Nature isn't made of particles. Quanta are quanta of energy. Congrats, genius, we teach this in high school these days and have for over 40 years. ;-)

Nobody of importance ever did. ;-)
