Science is always looking for the unexpected. The problem in high energy physics is that most of what pops up these days is not. The last really unexpected finding were neutrino masses.

CERN comes in at maybe 10% of the cost of the Apollo program and is on the order of 0.1% of the cost of the US nuclear program.

And there is the unemployed guy who pretends that he pays taxes. ;-)

None of her papers say "good scientist". They say exactly the opposite. She may have a modicum of technical talent but not enough to make anything useful with it.

In the US high energy physics robbed you of less than a coffee every year. :-)

@ Absolutely everything in high energy physics gets published, including high level budget projections and discussions about feasible futures for the field given the budged constraints. Dude, that you are a science illiterate bumpkin who doesn't read the literature is nobody's problem but yours. ;-)

Well, you got a troll reading the letter of a troll. Why would you not be disgusted? ;-)

Truth? No, just more fake news. :-)

Awh, you are so cute when you are begging for attention. ;-)

An independent thinker is usually just a narcissist with a failed education. Pass. ;-)

Not even very good rambling. The rambling master sits in the White House. ;-)

I have an almost 18 year old car in near perfect order. My parents were driving a 25 year old car and there is an automobile club near my house that has plenty of people driving their 1940a and 1950s cars on the weekend. What planned obsolescence????

@ Yes, they still make that model and I was even given an offer for it by a delivery driver who wanted an old Prius because they are so reliable. Dude, you need to pull that head of yours out of your rear. :-)

@ It's OK, kid. I am not impressed by your desperate need for attention, either. I will feed you anyway. Somebody has to. Your Mommy is obviously not home. ;-)

She is reading the bullshit email of a person who is completely out of touch with reality. I used to work in accelerator facilities and I changed careers to industry because of the pay difference between academia and industry. I was simply not making enough to have enough social security in my old age. I left academia during the worst of one of the tech crises and I found a new job within three weeks exactly because of my skills which are rare. I had unemployed engineers approach me on a bus and beg me to get them job interviews with my company after they saw that I was employed. Dudes, the lady and her sources are as fake as it comes.

@b_8103 Nothing has changed in high energy physics, kid. It's a continuously operating scientific branch that has the exact same goal (measuring the spectrum of the physical vacuum) that it had in the 1940s. You need to get an education and stop believing all the bullshit on the internet.
