Yes, try any of that in the physics community and you get slaughtered. :-)

The good news is that these non-reproducible psychology papers have absolutely no consequences on real life. Why on the world would anybody care that people feel like winners when they accidentally pull two chocolate cookies out of a bag that happen to stick together instead of one?

Says the person who doesn't know that psychology is not science. :-)

@daz501h Science has a very precise definition. Psychology does not fall under that definition. End of story.

@daz501h Science: knowledge about or study of the natural world based on facts learned through experiments and observation. You are welcome.

@daz501h Of course people can be studied. They can be experimented on. Unlike with nature, however, the outcomes are not reproducible, which means that your experiments are not producing facts but just the random outcome of the day. Now, if you take the time to read a few psychology journals, then you will find that most psychologists don't experiment and the ones that do do it extremely poorly. A lot of articles are more along the lines of a new Dr. Freud announcing his personal theory of the human mind.

Psychology is technically not a science. Science deals with the description of nature. Psychology is primarily trying to improve the mental health of people. It is a somewhat less well defined area of medicine.
