  17. Why would Jesus not have existed? And why does it matter? Christianity is NOT a belief in Jesus. It's a belief in Christ, the resurrected son of god. Yes, that's a myth, but it doesn't mean that there was no historical Jesus.

Early Christians died because the Romans killed them. If you read the NT, then you will notice just how desperately Christians were trying to accommodate the Roman state. Give the emperor what belongs to the emperor is boot licking of highest order. ;-)
