  2. The "real world" are the factories in China, India and Bangladesh that make the shirts and shoes these people are wearing. Let's stay real here for a moment. If you want to teach your students something useful, how about you teach them physics like the inner photoelectric effect that allows us to make solar electricity cheaper than electricity from coal fired powerplants. Or how about you teach them chemistry and why producing natural gas is much better for people above ground and below? Coal mining was a necessity in the 19th century because we couldn't do better, yet. In the 21st century it's merely an anachronism and a liability.

  3.  @Marshall-lb1ei  California is currently generating 60% of its electricity from renewables and 0% from coal. All you are telling me here is that you can't do as well as the people in California. Why do you like to look like a loser on the internet? What's the upside of that? ;-)
