  1. If you scale this idea you have an electric drone that can fly for maybe an hour and tag more people. What you actually need is a jetliner that can fly for 15 hours straight while transporting 400 people.

  5.  @Robert-xs2mv One can achieve efficiencies well over 50% with solar, if required. It's just not cost efficient. What's the point? Physical efficiency is not the goal. Cost efficiency is. At this point the levelized cost of solar energy is on the order of 5 cents per kWh and it will probably fall further to half that much. In combination with agriculture solar energy might actually achieve zero or even negative cost in some regions. Going below that is absolutely pointless.

  20. They were talking about long range aviation. There is very little hope to electrify that sector anytime soon. We are, at least, a factor of ten away in terms of power density and weight requirements.
