  2. And there is the troll bot who has never seen farmland. The massive destruction of eco-systems happened already during the Middle Ages in Europe and during the settlement of the US. Solar is basically just putting destroyed land that's left over from that destruction cycle to better use.

  4.  @Robert-xs2mv One can achieve efficiencies well over 50% with solar, if required. It's just not cost efficient. What's the point? Physical efficiency is not the goal. Cost efficiency is. At this point the levelized cost of solar energy is on the order of 5 cents per kWh and it will probably fall further to half that much. In combination with agriculture solar energy might actually achieve zero or even negative cost in some regions. Going below that is absolutely pointless.
