  1. Why would a VC return money to an LP????? That's investing at full risk. If you don't like it, put your money on the bank and get 4% or more right now. Zero risk. Also not much of a return.

  2.  @user-wt5ou4mz3w  Outsourcing doesn't cut cost (the company that is doing the work for you has to make a profit which comes out of yours). Outsourcing is quick and simple because it doesn't require in-house expertise and up-front investment. If you only want to be around for a short time, then you outsource. If you are planning for the long run, then you get an edge by doing things in-house.
