  2. We don't know what Ukraine has. For a country that is running out of ammunition it sure has destroyed a lot of Russian equipment and soldiers yesterday... It is also unlikely that the Russians are only gunning for a few civilians with all those drones, cruise missiles and rockets.

  3. The laws in the US are fairly clear. The president can not spend money that Congress has not allocated. What he can do, and you might see Biden doing just that if Congress does not allocate money, is to send in the US air force to ensure a no-fly zone over Ukrainian territory, which would be enormously helpful to Ukrainian ground troops. It is perfectly possible that the GOP is hoping for that. It's not obvious to me that such a move would be politically disadvantageous to Biden, either. Americans have a tendency to support a strong acting president even if they politically disagree with him.

  4. I doubt Putin actually wants Trump as president. He didn't attack Ukraine while Trump was president, which indicates that the Russians know that he can't be controlled. He may do something really, really stupid involving nuclear weapons. ;-)
