How long does it take to completely destroy the Russian army? Probably three years. Could be four. You need to have patience.

The real aim of Russia is to force Ukraine to spread their air defense systems out, which are mostly protecting their military and war production facilities. Ukraine is not taking the bait.

The real cost is the replacement value, not the money that has already been spent on these weapons in the past. You also have to understand that the Pentagon has multiple sets of ledgers. One is the public ledger for Congress that is required by law. Then there is a classified one that covers actual operations cost for all programs, including the top secret ones. Very few people ever get to see that one. And then there is, at least, one more, which is a planning budget that contains many future scenarios. I am sure that there is currently a lot of political wrestling about how those moneys will be raised in the coming years.

@Coercer2010 Western politicians aren't interested in stealing from toddlers. They are having way more fun pounding Russia to dust, right now. ;-)

There is a simple reason why Russia is attacking random civilian targets at this time: they want Ukraine to disperse its air defense systems, which would leave valuable targets more vulnerable. What are the valuable targets? Ukraine has been building up its own defense industry over the last year and a half. They are now producing long range weapons systems and they will soon have missiles that can reach Moscow and beyond. Those facilities need to be protected and they are. Russia is, for good reasons, extremely afraid of the products of these facilities. :-)

Yes, that was bullshit. ;-)

Because that's another turn of the screw.

Yes, they tried that last time, too... didn't work. Won't work this time, either. In a sense it has probably begun, already. Russia is desperately trying to seize territory in the North to block Ukraine from going all in towards Crimea. It's not working.

Why would you give Russia free information about NATO air defense systems... to protect trees? Dude. ;-)

@HangPutin00 We have an AWACS and a few other high altitude systems flying that have full visibility from tree level to the stratosphere. Not to mention that NATO is getting all the data from Ukraine's systems all the time... plenty of coverage. No need to waste NATO equipment. ;-)
