We can only draw on these individual repertoires in response to an immune system challenge, including a vaccination and a booster. Unfortunately this means that if your personal immune system is poorly matched to the virus, then no vaccine can protect you. If it is well matched and you have a strong response, then you don't even need a vaccine to only develop light disease. What average quantities like the antibody count tell us is how well the average of the population may be protected. That is very important for epidemiological purposes, but it is close to meaningless for you individually. To rely on these averages for your personal protection is therefor a dangerous scientific misunderstanding. You should always minimize exposure to the virus because that is the only reliable way of keeping yourself safe. To say this in a different way: vaccination campaigns are tools to keep the population as a whole safe (which includes you as it removes the source of infection), but they are not designed to assure your individual survival in an absolute way. This is the reason why it is much more important to vaccinate everybody than to vaccinate only individuals who are seeking personal protection.
