  1. You are absolutely right except for one thing: photons don't hit your eyes, they are the amounts of energy that get absorbed by your eyes. The may sound like a trivial difference, but it's the key to actually understanding quantum mechanics. There are no photons in the free field. Quanta are not atomistic phenomena.
