  1. He is not wrong, though. The actual elephant has been in the room since Tesla has begun shipping the Model S in 2012. At that point all arguments in favor of the ICE were over. An intelligent person doesn't argue with reality and they never argue with a superior product in an attractive package. Look, Nokia wasn't bad. Their phones weren't useless pieces of trash. Quite the contrary. Still, their phone market share went from around 50% to a few percent in a matter of six years, or so. Automotive companies have a longer decline time scale because the product is longer lived, but the dynamics are the same. The better is the enemy of the good. Anybody who doesn't get that finds himself locked out of the market sooner or later.

  2. It's not the first time that a paradigm shift happens and it won't be the last time. All you (any of you) have to be concerned about, is to leave the horse-and-buggy manufacturers sooner, rather than later, then you will be OK.
