  1. China's GDP (which is NOT the PPP) is still lower than that of the US. Moreover, China's population is declining, which means that all of its GDP growth has to come from an increase in GDP per capita, which will make China less and less competitive in the global markets. China's goose is cooked. Or, better, it's Peking Duck is broiled. :-)

  2. Yes, I have been on Chinese transportation systems, too. The trains are an awful waste of time compared to flying and buses are so full that one can't go anywhere during rush hour. China has not been able to solve its transportation problems. An increase in personal car use will do only one thing: clog China's inner cities completely.

  3. Every Chinese knows where the better life is: in the US. Most simply don't have the money to get out of that hellhole called China. ;-)

  4. China's situation is not better than that of the US. Demographically China is doomed since it won't be able to replace itself with immigration. Han Uebermensch ideology does not allow for that. :-)

  5. China didn't export high value semiconductors in large quantities. They are mostly packaging.
