Everybody knew that the balance sheets of the banks were going bad, which inevitably leads to bank shutdowns, at which points savers can't get to their money and companies can't pay their payroll, buy supplies etc.. Four weeks after a too big too fail had gone down the economy of the US would have ground to a halt, with tens of millions of unemployed and goods and services becoming unavailable for the simple reason that financial transactions would have been inaccessible. Now, if you don't know that, then you aren't living in the real world, kid. You are just the regular internet guy who doesn't know where his nose ends and his rear starts. :-)
