@EyeForKnowledge. Well, they sure taught it at mine... some 50 years ago. I was, of course, not high back then and I did pay attention. :-) In the high school physics classroom we usually demonstrate it with a small ripple tank. So, if this thing works with water, then what do you think? Is there any quantum mechanics involved? Of course not. The double slit has nothing whatsoever to do with quantum mechanics. That's just stupid people talking bullshit on the internet.

Einstein's problem isn't that he didn't get the ensemble right. His problem was that he never stopped believing that there should be a man behind the ensemble curtain. That there isn't follows trivially from the special theory of relativity, but Einstein didn't see that (neither did his contemporaries). Sean Carroll is simply too full of himself. He will never understand quantum mechanics because that would require him to think outside of his tiny box. ;-)
