Land lived on by ethnic Russians stuck there after the collapse of the Soviet Union. You can blame Stalin for that all you want but the fact remains Russians live in those places. You could work out a deal to exchange populations in a humane manner if they were that much of a problem for you but that is too much work. Easier to just provoke Russians thinking the West will come in and die for you like what happened in Georgia 2008.

The China Show shows time and time again don't trust what the Chinese say, look at their results despite the censorship. China is a paper tiger. Now why did Russia seize Crimea? Could it be American interference in Ukraine that instigated the coup? Could it be the Americans installed a government hostile to Russia that would seize its naval base? Where was its naval base? Crimea. A naval base they had for hundreds of years and a strategic point for Russia. You think Russia was just going to give it up? Don't forget the semi-autonomy of Crimea and the other eastern provinces that ethnic Russians lived in that the new radical Ukros were going to tear up and eliminate. So yes, Russia totally went in unprovoked for no reason at all!! I bet America would just let Cuba take Guantanamo Bay too, but it isn't okay if someone else does it.

Because unlike America and Western governments, the Russian government actually cares about its people and doesn't hate huwites. Those areas that Russia wants are areas where ethnic Russians live! Ukraine isn't made up of 100% Ukrainians. You even have Hungarians and Poles living there too. If Ukraine didn't attack Russian citizens inside their border for oh say the past 10 YEARS and honored the Minsk Agreement that has been covered up by Western media, then Russia would not have gotten involved especially when weak ass Biden got selected so Russia found a window to do something about it. Oh, and maybe don't threaten to seize a Russian naval base either in a tender area Russia has a strategic interest in maintaining!
