If you are talking about oil we are already the number 1 net producer plus even then our biggest importer is.....Canada. So oil is no longer a concern. Therefore the only reason to be in that region at this point is "great game of empires" diplomatic bullshit. I say fuck that part of the world and let them tear each other apart while we sit back with popcorn and watch what unfolds. All that money wasted there could be used at home you know to improve things that matter like our infrastructure that is in tatters.
