  2.  @G2497i  If it was a military defeat then the numbers would have been in the Vietcong and Taliban's favor. They never were. Americans won the vast majority of battles. These are examples of political victories where the American public got sick of the wars going nowhere and chose to leave otherwise, they could have stayed on longer if there was a political will which there wasn't.
