  2. The Alexander II era especially was great time for both Finland and Russia, autonomy two centuries ago. And then after WW2 Kekkonen era especially. Kekkonen was the best president in Finland's history. A huge man, very wise stateman.

  3. As for Russia culture, Solaris by Stanislaw Lem, Polish author, the Sovjet filmation of it, directed by Andrei Tarkovsky in 1972, is a masterpiece in modern cinematography. It's more than a film, it's poetry.
