  2.  @georgesbv1  Stalin failed to even to invade Finland, Raate Road was catastrophic. Hitler failed too, even more miserably. Finns were the bravest of them all Go back to school.

  3.  @georgesbv1  That is correct, you have read that part of the history well. In Winter War Sovjets did go inside Finland but never managed to invade major towns. Realizing facing massive overpower of Sovjets General Mannerheim surrendered in March 1940 and saved thousands of lives and Finland. And its independence. I wouldn't call this unfortunate. Even many if not most Stalinists, extreme communists, in Finland praised great Mannerheim as the Finnish war hero of all time.
