  2. ​​ @reynardus1359 Finland did 2 big mistakes: Started side Germany in the 1930s that lead to Winter War that Finland lost and surrendered 1940. Against started side with Germany that ultimately lead to lose again, 1941-44. But good to Finland that drove Germans out in Lapland War 1944-45. Paris Peace Treaty 1948 was quite reasonable to Finland as Finns were let to maintain sovereignity. Not bad for a young nation, not bad at all.

Finland became as autonomy under Russian Empire, till its independense 6.12.1917 that Lenin immediately recognized and Stalin some time later. Both supported and engouraged small nations at the time hoping that these could become socialistic nations, actually.
