  4. That's because we don't really know ahead of what's coming in computing that's why you have this weird inconsistent naming, go look up the naming of CPU registers for example it's the same story there

  7.  @lemdixon01  also compilers aren't that good at writing good assembly, they do a good job at translating higher level languages to assembler but if you just wrote the whole application in assembler from scratch you get an objectively better result at the cost of longer development time. Again there's a reason so many applications written in C include so much inline ASM.
