Current level of "AI" is nowhere near the level people think it is

That's so cool & you should encourage your close relatives to do the same but make sure to not come across as condescending tho

Go to the public library or somewhere like that
4
Library Genesis
3
Just Google the symbols
3
This book only applies to opiate addicts tho lol
3
Because discrete math is basically a bunch of introductory math topics that you study fully way beyond that basic level as part of your math major anyway
3
@mynameusedtobelong sleep deprivation is great to combat depression and also if you play your cards just right you can get used to a better sleep regime by utilizing sleep deprivation well
3
Who needs friends when you have books
3
No, you can learn anything as long as your cognitive abilities aren't impaired due to factors you can't do anything about
3
Use the R language

Boomer take detected; opinion rejected.

Pointers are the simplest concept ever

Lots of people intentionally give bad advice out of malice, pro tip: your senior coworker who doesn't want you to outshine them is one of them.
2
Yeah that's a good approach, collapsing every problem to the point the only requirement is trivial math
2
They're just coping because they're too weak to go against social expectations so they're pointing fingers instead
2
Is this a joke
2
Yeah, only html/CSS and MAYBE some js for the functionality you absolutely NEED is needed. Anything beyond that is bloat and waste of your clients' resources.
2
C leads the way. OOP is the devil.
2
Don't you fear your creator?
2
Review Khwarazmi's Algebra it's translated to English and available online
2
@keylanoslokj1806 is reading ability really called "academic level" nowadays lmao
2
@sonicmaths8285 yeah ignore him and just go for it
2
@keylanoslokj1806 please show me.the gene that allows native speakers to naturally know this technical jargon and advanced terminology you're speaking of
2
How many women and children have you eliminated?
2
@thomasjefferson6225 classic gaslighting

IQ is a scam
1
@surrealistidealist they go into that field because they're not forced to do math by it. It's not a they problem, it's the field itself that's the problem.
1
@Dave2kool4skool it is confusing sometimes I'm not saying it isn't, but it isn't the most complicated thing ever
1
The only old dog that can't be taught new tricks is one that's arrogant and feels himself superior just by virtue of being born earlier than others

Hey perhaps it's a gem of a book

@_________________404 structs and function pointers are procedural concepts not objected oriented concepts. And OOP is the paradigm that becomes a mess; not procedural. Procedural is readable even at higher scales. OOP is barely readable even if the codebase is small. Then there's the tendency of C++ devs to write "clever" code.
1
@_________________404 "swords were made using steel long before rebars were a thing; therefore, swords were essentially rebars, used in middle age construction."
1
@_________________404 guns are not melee weapons so your analogy is invalid.
1
@_________________404 it ended up being used because it's made hundreds of empty promises that were never fulfilled. exactly the same thing rust users are doing now.
1
@_________________404 it's telling that you come with disrespectful attitude the moment you're told you're not arguing correctly.

Maintaining legacy C++ code

The posterity of editions

Wtf Ur racist!!!
1
Just learn C you don't need C++ for anything
1
@astanakazakhstan3220 OOP is for nobodies to pretend they're intelligent
1
@astanakazakhstan3220 OOP is a bad paradigm
1
You should really look into what "AI" really is they're just probabilistic model, nothing impressive at all and incredibly error-prone. They've now just labeled it as "AI" to make it into a marketable gimmick but it's nothing novel even just a rebranding of decades-old probabilistic models now burning through hardware just generating electronic waste for no reason other than satisfy this artificial consumer hype.

@k_otey stay in your bubble of delusion

It can be applied in pretty much any field but philosophy is garbage. Philosophy majors wish they had what it takes to do a math major.
1
Yeah, critical financial infrastructure pretty much runs on COBOL

The graphic designer company

And yet modern software is optimized worse than ever
1
Only knowledge of basic algebra is needed to start in linear algebra. Linear algebra is a standard course in majority of college programs, doesn't matter whether you're doing math or engineering or some soft science, and it's mostly done before calculus for the programs that include calculus in their curricula.

What's cock and ball tortur got to do with math?
1
the earth is flat

Not the first time in history although this misconception is quite common
1
hhhhhh potty mouth

Welcome
1
Completely false
1
@keylanoslokj1806 man of culture
1
Procedural is superior to OOP in pretty much every area of programming except maybe neural networks which is a fairly new concept and that tells you how worthless OOP is as a paradigm that it took literally decades to find something it's good at
1
@declanfarber same here
1
@keylanoslokj1806 you think people read children's books and consider themselves competent?
1
Physics is just applied math just like engineering. Btw if you want to learn useful physics just study electrical engineering. Physics major is really not worth it.
1
@psychologienerd7546 haha "everything concerning reality" that's an amazing joke LMAO go read another bogus string theory article kid

@mfaracing surely there is a disproportionately higher amount of psychopaths and mass murderers than there was during the 80s and 90s...oh wait

@John_Smith__ could u explain why python is not well suited for data science? I'm genuinely curious (I don't have a dog in this game, so to speak).

@John_Smith__ thank you for your answer
