  1. My Dad used to buy me dozens of used books at our annual Book Fair (like a birthday, but way, way better!!), and somehow grabbed a book about Sisi. I was amazed to never have heard of her before and was just crying like I knew her by the end of the book. I must be the last person to discover her - there are so many movies, books, just incredible how relevant she still is. The Diana thing is annoying, but probably caused more people to read about her.

  3. Who was being "snippy"? It was absolutely a bunch of bored Kings who really wanted empires. I feel wayyy better about all of my rather unpleasant cousins after slogging through that mess. Granted, my Grandparents weren't first cousins, which makes where to go for Christmas less problematic, but not a deep gene pool at all!

  6. Well, wasn't Franz Ferdinand close to Kaiser Wilhelm II? That man wanted to have a war. Any war would do. But it probably depends on what book you read. Or who you ask on Quora. ;0) I still hate that my country was pulled into the mess. A bunch of cousins in Europe who were jealous of each other, and our soldiers died and the ones who survived brought home Influenza! Oh the glory of War. :/
