@sheepdog03 I don't. They planned it ahead of time. They waded through their parents' bloody bodies to carefully pick up every bit of evidence. Read Allie Beth Stuckey 's book, Toxic Empathy. I think ours is being played on. Megyn still calls them "the boys". I have forgiven a parent I was sure I would hate until I died, so while I've been in a very similar situation, and I'm not special, it took years and years to truly forgive and return to my parents ' home. They need me. I have lost my best friend and 3 years before that, my beloved Mentor to murderers. I was 18, the day before I was to graduate from high school, sitting in a church with the young woman who started me on the path to forgiveness... in a coffin. Life is so cheap to too many people. Five years after losing my best friend, Timothy McVeigh murdered 168 of my neighbors. The Menendez brothers were smart enough to have gotten away and started to work. I hope their father didn't hurt them. But there is an irony that the state of California no longer has the death penalty (which directly has affected me and all of us who lost just the best person). But the parents were given the death penalty. It worries me in the potential precedent being set. I understand your feeling and appreciate your compassion. But the legal system serves criminals above victims. I'm reminded every time in the last 30 years that I have been called on to write a Victim Impact Statement.
