@TCRGuitar First, I agree that Clinton only won 42 or 43% in 1992. But it is a fact that George Stephanopoulos was the Comms director of the Clinton campaign, so it would be a bit silly to dismiss his efforts to turn Slick Willie (my cousin is one of the more I guess prominent women that he hurt, full disclosure) into The Man From Hope, Mr. "I feel your pain" guy. I disagree about the part Ross Perot played however. My evidence is not scientific, but I remember distinctly who had his bumper sticker on their car on Oklahoma and Arkansas and Texas, and they were all Democrats. My Grandparents, my Uncles and Aunts all are lifelong Dems and they donated heavily to the Perot campaign. Maybe that happened because we knew Bill Clinton was pretty awful or rumored to be, and Democrats couldn't bring themselves to vote for Bush, so they voted for Perot. I'm interested in why you see this differently though. Do you remember when George HW Bush's approval numbers were so high, SNL did a skit called something like "The race to not be the guy who gets beaten by Bush"? 😂😂 Amazing how these things change.
