Someone likes to use the UN to intimidate China. Yes, the UN is powerful, but it is an exception when it comes to China. In 1950, a UN coalition consisting of 16 countries, led by the powerful US army, was formed to intervene in Korea. They quickly advanced their forces across North Korea, occupying its capital, Pyongyang, and reached the border with China at the Yalu River. At this critical moment, China sent its troops into Korea. From October 1950 to January 1951, in just three months, the Chinese army completely expelled the UN forces, led by the US army, from North Korea. Not only did they reclaim Pyongyang, but they also briefly occupied Seoul, the capital of South Korea. So, don’t try to use the UN or the US army to scare China. We’ve been there, done that. History has shown that they are ineffective against China.
