It is accurate about the numbers, but what they do not want you to know is that behind the Filipinos, there was a whole army of US artillery support with hundreds of howitzers providing firepower for the Filipinos. The PLA did not have any heavy weapons at the time, so essentially, the Filipinos did not do anything; they were all protected by the US army's artillery. In another words, it was not the Finos stopped the PLA attack but the US army.

  3. it is interesting that China's navy drill is focused on how to deal with with the fishing boats, not the warships of the US, it means, in some way, that China is sure that the US will not be involved, but Philippines may send more fishing boats for making trouble in the area.

  14. If Filipinos are really that brave at fighting, their country would not have been colonized by Spanish, the US and then invaded by the Japanese. If they are real that brave, they should have started fight Chinese coast guards not waved a white flag beg for surrender under the water cannon attack.

However, before making such claims, one should understand the following facts: The shortest distance (as the crow flies) between the USA and Guam is 6,961.48 miles (11,203.43 kilometers). The Chinese mainland is approximately 1,300 kilometers from the Spratly Islands. Therefore, if one argues that distance should dictate territorial sovereignty, it would imply that Guam should not be considered US territory.
