  5. The previous government ( Gotabaya Rajapaksa,) blindly believed in all the nonsense about so-called "green agriculture," banning the use of any chemicals, including fertilizers and pesticides. This policy led to a country that could once produce three rice harvests a year now being unable to grow enough rice to meet its own needs, forcing it to buy rice from the international market and eventually driving the country to bankruptcy. I hope the new president will completely abandon these unrealistic policies and restore the country to a path of normal and rapid development.
