  9. There are about 250 islands in SCS, China only has 7 in, all others are by others, among the 7, only 1 of them, China set up a territorial water for it, which is 12 nm miles around it, only one, none of the others China has any territorial water set (not yet, maybe later)

The US knows very well for all of these, from the beginning in 1947, the US had no objection on the dashed line drawn by ROC, today, the US still claim it has no interest on any of the island in SCS and not going to get involved in the dispute for them. What US wants is free navigation. however, not a single country in ASEAN said anything about China interrupted any navigation in SCS. However, the US purposely sail directly into the only one island with China's territorial water to provoke China.
