Making valued products in these days, needs high tech, where the high tech come from? from your R&D, for doing R&D, needs money, the money in R&D comes from investment, for the past 20 years and more, Indian government input into R&D is about 0.6% of India's GDP, compare to USA, S. Korea and China,all above 2.2%, if considering the GDP of China is 6 times of India, so the total amount of money into R&D is (2.2-0.6)*6=9.6 times of India, for 20 years, that is 20*9.6=192 times of India.

  3. we understand India's frustration very well, since we have been there, 20 yrs ago some Chinese blame Japanese cars in China, but not now, why? because we have lots of good Chinese cars, we do not care about Japanese cars any more. in March 2020, China's cars has already occupies 48.5%, imaging if Micromax. beat all mi, vivo, oppo,..........nobody would care about Chinese phones any more. the key is, China never had someone like Palki to call for boycott Japanese car.

  4. the hostile to foreign companies is not something new in India but with a long history, although it is focused on China companies, India has a tradition to think all foreign companies to India is just to make money from India, bases on this kind feelings, India set up very strict rule to foreign companies, so made the India not an ideal place for foreign companies to business in India, finally, this kind practice made India to the edge of bankruptcy so India 1990 India had to open up for foreign companies and foreign investment, with this, India got economy growth for some time, now, India forgot about it, with the trend to go back to 1990s, with this , Ford motors spent $2 billion just to move the production line out of India, GM closed its factories in India, Great Wall Motor stopped planned $1 billion investment to India but switched to Brazil, and with current policy, more Chinese company will move out and less foreign companies will move into India.

Huawei's boss Mr. Ren ZF told a story, Huawei hired a Russian young man, this guy was just setting in front of a computer, whole day, nobody knew what he was doing, but all kind of math calculation........................ then finally one day, this Russian young man showed he integrated all 2G, 3G and 4G techs, together, no need to use separate system for deal with them. Huawei's success greatly relied on its huge investment in R&D.

Intention and results are two different things, US put sanction on Russia on oil, but Russian sold less oil but made more money (thanks part the India played), you want hurt Chinese companies, ok, that is understandable, but other companies are watching, if you can do this kind thing to China, you can do it to any other companies. ......so they would not come, then you go back to before 1990 and facing another bankruptcy, at the same time, other companies move forward, leave you far and far behind.
