Today, the Ganges is considered to be the most polluted river in the world. Stretches of over 600 km (370 mi) are considered ecologically dead zones. Three quarters of all the sewage generated in the northern plains remains wholly untreated before it is discharged into the Ganges and its tributaries.

It is a crime to pollute this river into this extent. on On Wings of Song,by Mendelssohn, it said: "Sweetheart, I carry you away, Away to the fields of the Ganges, Where I know the most beautiful place." now once the beautiful place all got polluted and filled with trashes.

@hindurashtra63 total BS, go to China to see by yourself, Xi told Chinese people, the best for China is not silver mountain or gold mountain, best is green mountain and rivers with clear water.

@hindurashtra63 In 2015, 81.8 percent of the national monitoring stations located in the Yangtze River Basin reported "fairly good" water quality, according to the Ministry of Ecology and Environment. By the end of last year, the proportion had shot up to 98.5 percent.

@hindurashtra63 the most important is, China is controlling pollution, with very good results achieved, India is not. and will get worse.
