Situation has not changed in Tawang front since 1962, Oct 20 1962, after 1 day fight, PLA completely destroyed 7th Brigade of Indian army, captured its brigadier BG John Dalvi. heard the news, Indian army at Tawang just fled their positions, so PLA took whole Tawang without need fire a shot. Indian army put an defense position at Sela Pass, along the road 13, all the way to Bomdila, with heavy artillery in front try to stop PLA. PLA did not attack first, instead, PLA sent 600 soldiers went around the mountains in a road called Belly Trail, to cut at back of Indian army at Bomdila, so cut off the back of Indian army whole army was surrounded from Sela Pass to Bomdila, the whole army collapsed, they just run away from any tiny road they could find in mountains, impossible for PLA to catch them all, most of them run into Bhutan, which PLA respect never got into Bhutan, BG, Singh got kil.ed when he met PLA on way of fleeing . After Bomdila, there was no resistance, no army , all the way to Tezpur, Tezpur official heard the bad news, all run away, and the bankers burned all Indian currency in the banks.
